Marshal, I makes me wonder. GM deep sixes the electric car, but has announced the release of the VOLT which is a plug in hybrid that gets 100 MPG (per gallon of fossil fuel) around 2010. They claim that the battery technology has delayed its release (a bullshit line if I ever heard one film fans). So whats going on???? Perhaps the operative word is “Hybrid”. An electric car that's 100% electric is simply not allowed…yet. They let the cat out of the bag way too soon (to their thinking that is). Plus, Hybrids have more moving parts that wear out and require replacement and repair. They will juice the transportation industry for every nickel and penny they can squeeze out of your wallet, to the demise of civilization and the planet (you think I'm kidding?)
